You Can Do It Yourself. But Should You Keep Doing It?
Of course, you can do it yourself. Everyone needs to perform regular maintenance to keep things smooth, secure, and efficient.
- Back up your data. Critical devices especially. Even Microsoft says so. And don’t just back it up — test it. A backup that doesn’t restore is just a false sense of security.
- Patch your Operating Systems. No exceptions. Updates aren’t optional.
- Third-party software? Same deal. Patch it. Keep it current. No fixed schedule here, so stay alert.
- Scan for malware and viruses. Bad actors aren’t taking breaks. Neither should your defenses.
Not bad, your system’s all done… right? Don’t forget everyone else’s. All it takes is one.
Sorry, you still aren’t done.
- Protect your domains. Secure your DNS. Lock down your email. Phishing isn’t going away — it’s evolving. Ignorance was bliss.
- Update your websites. Core software, themes, plugins — even if the content’s static, the code shouldn’t be.
- Subscriptions. Don’t forget anything. Make your list and check it regularly.
- Infrastructure. Routers, switches, access points, printers. They’ve all been exploited before — and they will be again.
These aren’t “nice-to-haves.” These are all necessary to maintain a secure, efficient, and resilient IT environment — whether you’re running a business or protecting your family.
Having gone through all that, were you able to get your actual work done, because here’s the bad news: You need to do it again. And again. Once a month isn’t enough.
And you haven’t run any diagnostics yet, or dealt with other IT problems such as full or failing drives, overheating processors, or memory issues.
Let us handle it. We’ll Remotely Monitor & Manage your IT through our RMM systems — so you can stop chasing updates and start focusing on what matters.
